In reply to <a href="https://www.evankleiman.com/monkey-bread-slices/#comment-873">Nancy</a>.

I sideways stacked because the whole inspiration was Joy the Baker's sideways stacked monkey bread. So yes, if you love chocolate I would say use more, also consider using the melted filling like for a true Babka or Krantz cake. Here's link to the Ottolenghi one I made. http://blogs.kcrw.com/goodfood/2013/03/cookbook-inspiration-jerusalem-and-the-hazelnut-babka/

Can I ask did you stack them sideways or flat in the pan? I stacked them sideways, so at first hot bite out of the oven then came off like monkey bread but the next day more like a babka. No complaints, this was fabulous. I added one thing, from David Lebovitz Babka, brownie crumbs, which I think make it all the more chocolately. Making again tonight but just wondering about that stacking!
